Three-star quarterback Bekkem Kritza has finally committed to Penn State after a protracted and convoluted process.

On November 11, 2023, Kritza, the 37th-ranked quarterback in the nation, made one of the longest-tenured commitments in this class of 2025 by committing to Penn State. He has made 12 trips to Penn State over the years, and he is currently the lone quarterback in the class. On Wednesday, signing day, the quarterback became Penn State’s thirteenth new recruit.

Kritza, who was 6′ 5 and 195 pounds, was from Colorado when he committed to Penn State. However, he returned home to Florida for his final season and began the season at Miami Central. After losing his starting quarterback position at Miami Central, he transferred to Chaminade-Madonna Prep in the middle of the season. In his first game there, he led an unexpected victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in early October.

Kritza has had success despite the difficult journey to become a Lion. This weekend, he will lead Chaminade-Madonna against Trinity Christian Academy in the state semifinals.

Although Kritza is a gifted football thrower who occasionally struggles with precision, James Franklin was thrilled to have him formally join this recruiting class.

“We’ll be here to support you every step of the way once you get on campus,” Franklin stated on Wednesday. It will not always be simple. It will be difficult. However, you were made for that, and it will be amazing to see you develop and flourish here at Penn State.

Sean Clifford, the Green Bay Packers’ current quarterback and all-time Penn State passing leader, greeted Kritza in Happy Valley.
