A bride in Missouri was deeply moved by a surprise her mom added to her wedding dress. The touching tribute, which has gone viral on TikTok, left the bride in tears.
Natalie Crockett Jimenez shared a video of her wedding preparations where her mom helped her with the dress. As Natalie looked at the bottom of her dress, she noticed a “something blue” that wasn’t there when she first picked out the dress.
The surprise was a blue heart sewn into the dress with the words “I love you, Natalie. Daddy”. Natalie was overwhelmed with emotion and started crying when she saw it.
Natalie’s father, Bruce, had passed away in 2015 due to complications from a blood clot. At that time, Natalie was still in high school and had to deal with his sudden death.
How Did Her Mom Pull Off This Emotional Surprise?
Planning a wedding is usually a detailed and busy process, so it’s hard to sneak in surprises. However, Natalie’s mom, Devona Crockett, managed to pull off this heartfelt surprise without Natalie knowing.
Devona used fabric from her late husband’s shirt to create the blue heart. The handwriting on the heart was taken from a yearbook signature of Bruce’s.
Natalie was deeply touched when she saw the heart. She told Good Morning America that she recognized her father’s handwriting immediately, which made her cry for about 30 minutes.
