On March 11, 2025, the Township of West Deptford is preparing for a significant occasion: the Special School District Election.
The West Deptford Board of Education has allowed this election to present a proposal for voters to decide on issues impacting the local school district.
Voters must be informed on voting procedures, deadlines, and new regulations as the election day approaches.
A new legislation now mandates that the County Clerk’s office cease automatically mailing ballots to voters who haven’t used the mail-in method in the previous four years for individuals who want to vote by mail.
This implies that you will no longer be automatically sent a vote-by-mail ballot if your voting history shows that you haven’t sent one back before 2020.
A notice will be sent to voters who may be impacted by this change, and they can simply re-enroll in the vote-by-mail process by sending a fresh application to the County Clerk’s office.
You just need to show up at the polling station on election day if you are unaffected and intend to cast your ballot in person.
To guarantee that your ballot arrives in time if you intend to vote by mail, make sure you submit your application by March 4.
Voters who would rather cast their ballots in person can do so on March 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the RiverWinds Community Center.
Alternatively, if you have already enrolled in vote-by-mail, you should receive your ballot soon. Don’t forget to turn it in by 8 p.m. on March 11th, either by taking it directly to the county clerk’s office or by dropping it off at a designated drop box.
Due to a religious observance, the 2025 Primary Election has been delayed until June 10, 2025.
However, the initial primary date of June 3, 2025, will continue to be followed for deadlines pertaining to nominations, petitions, and mail-in ballot requests.
All candidates, including those for school board, fire district, and other local offices, must submit their nomination petitions to the County Clerk’s Election Division by March 11.
For the next general election, petitions must be filed by July 28, 2025, and candidates should make sure their documents are properly notarized before submitting them.
There are additional arrangements for military members and their families in addition to the standard voting procedure.
Vote-by-mail ballots can be emailed to active-duty members of the Armed Forces, Merchant Marine, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Public Health Service via the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA).
It is crucial that everyone who wants to vote in the March 11 Special Election, whether in person or by mail, fulfills all the requirements before the deadline.
Applications for in-person vote-by-mail must be submitted by March 10 at 3 p.m.
March 11 is the deadline for mail-in ballot submissions.
Candidates like those vying for the West Deptford Board of Education are highlighting their dedication to a vibrant and inclusive learning environment as voters get ready for these elections.
Residents of West Deptford are urged to keep themselves informed, make sure their voter registration is current, and ensure that their opinions are heard when they cast their ballots in March.
