A woman from Jefferson City has been sentenced to shock incarceration for using a Molotov cocktail in a dispute over child custody.
Laura Schraer, the accused, admitted to targeting the victim’s vehicle in January as a reaction to the disagreement over custody. She claimed that the conflict was due to not being able to see the child, which led to heated tensions between both parties.
According to police reports, Schraer explained that she prepared the Molotov cocktail by soaking rags in household cleaners and stuffing them into a glass container.
She then went to the victim’s house, placed the lit device inside their vehicle, and quickly fled the scene.
