A woman from Bourbon, Missouri, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident late Saturday night in Cole County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 10:45 p.m.
The woman, identified as 56-year-old Betty Post, was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Highway 54.
She was heading east when she lost control of the bike. The motorcycle went off the left side of the road, and Betty was thrown off.
After the crash, emergency medical services (EMS) from Cole County rushed her to University Hospital.
The report indicates that she suffered serious injuries. One important detail is that she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, but the fact that she wasn’t wearing a helmet may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
