The Boulder Police Department is actively looking for an individual involved in an e-bicycle crash that occurred on Tuesday evening.
The man, who was riding the e-bike, reportedly ran a red light and collided with a car before quickly leaving the scene.
Incident Details
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday near 47th Street and Diagonal Highway (Highway 119), which is located close to Foothills Parkway near Hayden Lake.
The police have released a video that shows the e-bike rider speeding through a red light as he heads south, just moments before the collision.
The e-biker ran through the red light, crashing into an eastbound Toyota Corolla. According to police reports, the car sustained serious damage, though fortunately, the driver, a woman, was not injured.
Description of the Suspect
Authorities have not confirmed whether the e-bicyclist was injured in the crash. However, footage from the video suggests that the rider managed to ride away from the scene of the accident.
Police describe the suspect as a young man, possibly Latino or African American, estimated to be in his late teens or early twenties.
He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and was last seen wearing a white or gray sweatshirt along with brown or khaki pants.
