Earlier this week, Penn State University declared the suspension of the Pi Delta Psi fraternity.
A statement from the school stated that the indefinite suspension went into effect on November 21 and will continue until at least 2028.
An extra year of organizational conduct probation will be imposed if and when the fraternity is successfully re-recognized.
According to the school, the Penn State Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response discovered following an inquiry that the Tau chapter was hazing new members and consuming alcohol at high risk during the spring semester of 2024.
According to the institution, the suspension has been communicated to both the national organization and the local branch.
The chapter cannot function as a Penn State-sanctioned organization and will not be allowed to attend, participate in, or plan any events, activities, or functions as a result of the suspension.
