Winston announced his departure from Penn State and his intention to enter the 2025 NFL draft on social media Thursday, despite his little time there.

ESPN NFL source Adam Schefter gave some specific details on the injury that kept the 6-2, 208-pound Winston out of action in 2024.

Winston sustained a partially torn ACL in one of his knees, according to Schefter.

According to Schefter, Winston’s knee was operated on by Dallas Cowboys team physician Dan Cooper, and it is anticipated that he will be prepared for on-field exercises by the beginning of March.

With 60 tackles in 2023, Winston led PSU. In addition, he recorded five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, 2.5 tackles for loss, and an interception.
