Next season, Penn State will require defensive line depth, at the very least. To support such, a top transfer might be planned.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett claims that the Nittany Lions are a club that stands out in portal pursuits thanks to former USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander. Among the top teams for Alexander’s services were SMU and Oregon.
Alexander, a four-star player who graduated from high school in 2022 ranked No. 50 in the country, has had a somewhat convoluted career. In his first 12 games as a freshman at Georgia, he recorded two sacks and nine tackles.
Although he left the Trojans in the middle of this season, he transferred to USC for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The Texas native recorded 51 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks during his 16 games with Los Angeles.
Although Alexander would be a flawed addition to Penn State, his size at 6-3 and 315 pounds would allow him to potentially reach new heights. Alexander is currently the 14th-best player overall and the portal’s No. 2 defensive lineman, according to 247Sports. He will still be eligible for two more years.
