To make room for some contemporary renovations, a historic performing venue in our area will close.
The Hershey Theatre will close in early 2025 for renovations, according to an open letter from Donald C. Papson, executive director of the M.S. Hershey Foundation.
According to Papson, the Hershey Theatre has been a cornerstone of the city’s cultural advancement since it first opened its doors in 1933. We are thrilled to announce that the Hershey Theatre will shortly begin a significant one-year renovation project to modernize the space while maintaining its historical significance.
Beginning on January 20, 2025, the renovations will go on all year round.
Redesigned parking lots, improved Wi-Fi access, and upgrades to the electrical and air conditioning infrastructure are just a few of the noteworthy additions, updates, and modifications.
According to the letter, the theater will return in early 2026 with a full Broadway season and a number of additional top-notch acts.
As we strive to preserve Mr. Hershey’s legacy by restoring this historic structure for the enjoyment of future generations, we sincerely appreciate your understanding,” Papson stated. We are appreciative of your ongoing support and eager to join you in commemorating the next phase of our history.
