Later this week, the newest store will open, and Wawa aficionados will undoubtedly flock there.
On December 12, a store will open at 8 a.m. at 100 Metropolitan Way in East Pennsboro Township. It’s Cumberland County’s first.
Wawa T-shirts will be given away for free to the first 100 people in line. From December 12 to 22, free hot coffee in any size will be served. At 8:30 a.m., a ribbon cutting ceremony is held.
A Wawa Through the Ages historical procession and a Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition between area first responders are two of the events planned for the festival.
Wawa intends to open more than 40 stores in the area over the next five to seven years, and this opening is a part of that expansion.A second location was launched this week in Dover, York County, after the first one opened in September at 1601 W. Harrisburg Pike in Lower Swatara Township, close to Middletown.
According to Wawa, a second location will open on December 19 at 4535 W. Market St. in York.
By the end of 2025, the chain anticipates opening a dozen locations in the counties of Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lycoming, Northumberland, Union, and York.
