Barkley eclipsed running back LeSean McCoy’s 2013 single-season rushing record of 1,607 yards in the fourth quarter. Against the Panthers, Barkley has run for 124 yards, including a nine-yard carry to get past McCoy’s number.
The most significant contributor to the Eagles’ potent offense has been Barkley. To address their offensive issues, the Eagles switched to a run-heavy strategy following their Week 5 bye. With an average of 188.9 yards per game through 13 games, Philadelphia’s run offense was the best in the NFL.
Because he played behind a leaky offensive line and with mediocre playmakers, Barkley didn’t have as much success during his six-year stay with the New York Giants. He also had to deal with wounds.
He is currently among the NFL’s top players and a strong contender for the Super Bowl.
In the Eagles’ last two wins, Barkley has made crucial plays. In the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ 24-19 victory over the Baltimore Ravens last week, he carried for a 25-yard touchdown, giving them a nine-point lead (21-19).
Barkley rushed for two touchdowns of 70 yards or more in the second half of the Eagles’ victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12.
