The Blackhawks had a rough season last year, finishing 3-21 and 0-5 in the league. Joshua Kauffman, one of their wrestlers, qualified for states, which was a significant achievement, but Susquenita still needs to put in some effort to take his place on the squad.

This year, Susquenita’s team was comparatively young, but perhaps they have a better chance now that they have some varsity experience.

Following a good 21-15 season as a freshman, Cole Robinson will return as a sophomore. After a 12–12 season that included a sectional trip, Bryce Hefenfinger will return for his senior year.

Braden Law, who finished 13-11 and made a sectional berth the previous season, will also return for his senior year.

The squad had to forfeit at least three weight classes due to roster vacancies, which was a major problem for Susquenita previous season.

The Perry County tournament at West Perry will be the first game of the season and will put the Blackhawks to the test. West Perry and Newport will open the tournament, followed at 6:30 by Susquenita and Newport, and at 8 by Susquenita and West Perry.

After that, Susquenita will travel to the Penn Manor Tournament, where 20 teams will compete.

The Blackhawks will begin league action on December 18 by traveling to Upper Dauphin to begin the dual meetings. After that, on January 4, they will travel to the Juniata Pooled Duals, which will feature local teams Juniata and Newport.

Before traveling to the Dutchmen Duals, Susquenita will hold a dual meet versus Bermudian Springs on January 8.

The Blackhawks will play their first league game again on January 15 when they host Halifax and then go to the Trojan Duals on Saturday.

Susquenita will continue to play away games against Northern Lebanon, Line Mountain, and Pequea Valley before taking on Camp Hill at home to close off the season.
