Roman Catholic was a basketball school until 2024. With this football team, that story was altered.

According to William Felder Jr. of Roman, this is now a football school, PennLive.com said. Next year, we will complete it.

The Cahillites won the District 12 5A title after going 6-4 throughout the regular season. After winning its first-ever state tournament game, Roman wasn’t done yet.

All the way to the PIAA 5A state championship game, they maintained that momentum.

After losing to Bishop McDevitt 34-31 in overtime in the state final, Romans wept on the sidelines. The momentum the program established in 2024 cannot be overstated, even though the season didn’t conclude the way Roman had hoped.

According to head coach Rick Prete, this simply motivates us to improve, PennLive.com reported. arriving, experiencing it firsthand, and seeing our weaknesses. I believe it will increase our desire to return here.

Felder, a Duke recruit, is among the many contributors the Cahillites are graduating. However, the Roman roster still has a wealth of potential.

Running back Jojo Delecce, wide receiver Eyan Stead, and highly sought-after three-star quarterback Semaj Beals will all be around for at least another season.

Although there is skill, it will require much more than that to sustain this.

According to Prete, the future is bright. as long as there is an unwavering work ethic. We must continue to monitor the work. Our children are gifted. The opposing team will also have talent when you arrive at the game and look across the sideline.
