Pittsburgh –George Pickensis was never one to hold back. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been unable to control the erratic wide receiver. On Thursday, the Browns’ defensive backs faced Pickens.
According to Martin Emerson, he did not appreciate Pickens’ quotation.
Emerson remarked, “I don’t respect it.” I simply believe that you must accept your victories just as you accept your setbacks. As an adult, take it on the chin. I think you make excuses when you don’t do it. I mean, I’m not sure. The reality is what it is at the end of the day. The game was won by us.
Cornerback Greg Newsome enjoyed taking Pickens out of the game by getting inside his head, while safety Grant Delpit stated that they must let him be terrible.
Although he doesn’t care about whatever Pickens does, Pickens claimed he didn’t even know who Newsome was when asked if he would say anything to him prior to the game.
Pickens stated, “I don’t even know who that is,” on Friday.
Pickens went on to say that playing hard is the reason for a lot of the penalties and that he hopes the league won’t target him because of his style of play.
Playing hard is the reason for that. “I’m not saying 100%, but you could get flagged when you’re playing hard and the league has a target on your back,” Pickens said.
A little more than two weeks ago, Pickens got into a postgame altercation during the last Hail Mary play of the Steelers’ 24-19 defeat. We’ll be looking forward to that encounter between the two squads, and more especially between Pickens and Newsome.
