However, oddsmakers don’t think Tomlin is the favorite. Tomlin is ranked second by BetMGM behind Detroit’s Dan Campbell, who has +110 odds compared to Tomlin’s +450 odds. Tomlin and Kevin O. Connell, the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, are tied. Similar odds can be seen on DraftKings, where Tomlin is ranked third, after Campbell and O Connell.
Tomlin defeated the Cincinnati Bengals to secure his 18th consecutive winning season. In contrast, the Steelers also created some history with that victory.
They were tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the longest streak of winning seasons in NFL history. The Steelers haven’t had a losing season since 2003, and the Cowboys under Tom Landry enjoyed a perfect season from 1965 to 1985.
The Steelers must win the AFC North at the very least if Tomlin is to earn Coach of the Year, but he could need to pull off several upsets against elite teams in the last days of December.
