Over the weekend, Bob Bryar, the former drummer for the emo band My Chemical Romance, was discovered dead in his Tennessee home.
The band issued a brief statement on Monday regarding the passing of one of their former members.
The 44-year-old was last seen alive on November 4, according to Variety. Although investigators do not suspect foul play, the reason of his death has not been disclosed as of the time this item was published.
In a statement to the outlet, a representative for My Chemical Romance said, “The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing.”
Following the release of My Chemical Romance’s 2004 album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, Bryar first started playing drums for the band. He replaced Matt Pelissier, the original drummer for My Chemical Romance, after first working as a sound engineer for various bands, including The Used.
Before leaving in the beginning of the recording of the band’s fourth album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, Bryar continued to drum for the group through The Black Parade.
In honor of The Black Parade’s tenth anniversary, the band has revealed a new tour that will take place in the summer.
