The 2024–25 boys wrestling season is almost here, and as the season’s start draws near, it’s time to look at some of the returning Mid-Penn Conference stars.
To find out which wrestlers are currently unnoticed before the campaign’s opening fights, PennLive carefully examined preseason surveys submitted by Mid-Penn Conference coaches.

Adam Raja
School: East Pennsboro
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Head coach Michael Kramer, who saw Adam battle for seven wins at 127 and 133 pounds, believes that the 2024–25 season will be his year. During the previous two seasons, he succumbed to his inexperience. According to Kramer, you have to grapple with him to truly understand his strength.

Aubert, Noah
Trinity School
Year: Second-year
The Buzz: According to head coach Kyle Shoop, Albert is ready for a fantastic season. The wrestler has adjusted well to the 133-pound weight class and will be a valuable member of the team this year.

Andrew Aaron
School: Palmyra
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Despite fighting through injuries, Andrew won 15 fights for the Cougars, and head coach Jonathan Regets claims the junior has changed his appearance this season.

Bachman, Stellan
Cedar Cliff School
Year: Second-year
The Buzz: At 139 pounds, Bachman won 11 fights as a freshman wrestler. Bachman works really hard and keeps improving, according to head coach Rick Tamanosky.

Ryan Beck
Red Land School
Year: Senior
The Buzz: Before injuries cost him the most of the previous two seasons, Beck had a 22-win season as a freshman wrestler weighing 132 pounds. Head coach Brian Baglio said Beck is returning stronger than ever as he competes in his final year.

Byerly, Tyler
Cumberland Valley School
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Byryly’s star should keep growing as he competes in the 215 and 285-pound weight classes. He went from five victories as a freshman to 19 as a sophomore.

Dolly Harley
Northern School
Year: Senior
The Buzz: Dolly, who had 15 victories the previous season, wrestled at 172 pounds after weighing 160 the year before. According to head coach Cory Johnson, Dolly has a strong work ethic and talent. This year, a lot of people will be surprised by him.

Hinkle, Landon
Greencastle-Antrim School
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Hinkle missed district qualification by one game after having a 13-win season at 152 pounds.

Howard, Steve
Waynesboro is the school.
Junior year
The Buzz: Howard has won 30 games in Waynesboro’s first two seasons, and head coach Casey Glunt says he is a talented player.

Xander Korn
School: Hershey
Year: Second-year
The Buzz: As a freshman, Korn wrestled at 145 and 152 pounds. Korn has put on a lot of weight and worked hard throughout the off-season, according to head coach Brandon Bucher.

Luffy, Abe
Shippensburg is the school.
Year: Second-year
The Buzz: According to head coach Josh Barrick, Luffy, who weighs 107 pounds and wrestled in a 19-win season as a freshman, was just one scoring sequence away reaching districts.

Miller, Jack
Camp Hill is the school.
Year: Senior
The Buzz: Miller, a talented fighter who competed at several weight classes from 189 to heavyweight, won 15 fights last season.

Medina Shaq
Milton Hershey School
Junior year
The Buzz: Medina is a fantastic leader and a diligent worker, according to head coach Jimmy Taylor.

Negron, Nicky
Bishop McDevitt School
Year: Second year
The Buzz: Despite wrestling primarily at 152 pounds, Negron had a strong rookie season for the Crusaders, winning 22 wins. Negron couldn’t wrestle in the individual postseason, though.

Osbaugh, Lennon
Big Spring School
Year: Senior
The Buzz: Osbaugh, who weighed 127 pounds when he wrestled last season, won 14 fights. Osbaugh started wrestling late, but head coach Chris Barrick said he has a lot of promise for his senior year.

Oswald, Tommy
Lower Dauphin School
Year: Second year
The Buzz: As a freshman wrestler at 107 pounds, Oswald had a 27-win season. Oswald has worked really hard this offseason and is sure to draw attention, according to head coach David Wuestner. He puts in a lot of effort and is a tough competition.

Scherer, Drew
Boiling Springs School
Junior year
The Buzz: After battling and defeating other wrestlers who made it to the state tournament, senior wrestler Scherer, who weighs 121 pounds, has put together consecutive 36-win seasons. According to head coach Kyle Dayhoff, the junior is poised for a breakthrough campaign.

School: Mechanicsburg
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Stare, a reliable return starter for the Wildcats, wrestled at 215 pounds and finished 21-12 the previous season.

Urban Steffon
Carlisle School
Junior year
The Buzz: Urban, who weighs 172 pounds and competes in 24 fights for the Thundering Herd as a sophomore, shocks people with his strength and speed for his size, according to head coach Joe Wilson.

Yoder, Adam
West Perry School
Year: Junior
The Buzz: Yoder wrestled at 145 pounds for most of the season and won 15 fights as a sophomore. According to head coach Zachary Kell, Yoder consistently gives it his all and gets better every season.
