Eagles running back in BaltimOREThe Philadelphia fan base is happy because of Saquon Barkley’s weekly habit of making the New York Giants’ top management seem foolish.

Barkley made the Giants look silly for letting him walk in free agency during the Eagles’ 24–19 victory over the Ravens on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium, giving Eagles supporters even more reason to adore him.

When Barkley rushed for a game-winning touchdown from 25 yards out with less than eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, raucous M-V-P chants broke out.

Eagles supporter Blake Pegler, 22, of Bel Air, Maryland, said, “With him on the team, it’s like (Jesus) Christ has come down on our team and said (expletive) the rest of the NFL.”

Pegler and other Eagles supporters expressed their opinions about Barkley just hours before kickoff, with some even criticizing the Giants for not re-signing him.

Barkley battled persistent ailments and a poor offense for the most of his six-year stay with the Giants. Therefore, Giants general manager Joe Schoen didn’t think it would be wise to sign Barkley to a costly new contract.

Barkley has been an excellent addition to Philadelphia’s offense since he inked a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles this past offseason.

He is on track to surpass Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson’s rushing record of 2,105 yards with 1,499 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 13 weeks. He is now the front-runner for MVP thanks to those numbers.

Barkley may help the Eagles secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC by continuing to produce impressive stats and making more crucial plays over the course of the following five weeks.

“Now you’re just seeing what he always should have been,” remarked Philadelphia resident Chad, 21. It’s unfortunate that we had to wait so long to witness it.

Schoen and coach Brian Daboll could be fired by Giants owner John Mara after the season.

The Giants must change, according to Virginia Beach native Hunter Ramirez, 26, because you can’t let one of the NFL’s top players go.

Ramirez, who attended Sunday’s game wearing a Kelly Green Barkley jersey, added that several of his friends are Giants supporters and are still grieving over Barkley’s passing.

Barkley was destined to be the next big star in New York, but things never quite worked out. With the Giants, he only made two Pro Bowls: in 2018 and 2022.

He has now revitalized his career with the Eagles and has the potential to be among the greatest players in the history of the team.

He’s been excellent, “He’s such an elusive back,” said 35-year-old Herb Dozier of Loris, South Carolina. I’m not even sure why the Giants’ front staff decided to let him go. The Super Bowl will be won by us.

The Giants gave quarterback Daniel Jones, who was cut last week, a long-term contract extension two years ago instead of Barkley, a move that drew harsh criticism.

Tim Breslin, a 15-year-old from South Jersey, stated, “I think they’re stupid and they’re never going to win anything.”

With 107 rushing yards on 23 tries against Baltimore this season, Barkley became the first running back to dash for more than 100 yards.

He ran for 255 yards and two scores in the Eagles’ victory over the Rams last week. Additionally, he has ran for over 100 yards in six of their last seven games.

He is now a Philadelphia fan favorite thanks to his accomplishments.

His history of injuries worried me a little. I was surprised by how brilliantly he performed. He has definitely surpassed expectations, according to Milford, Delaware resident Wayne Cohee, 53.
