Pittsburgh Steelers safety veteran Eric Rowe intends to play for the team again for a third season. Rowe, who inked contracts with the Steelers in November of 2023 and 2024, has played sparingly lately. Although he started four games for the Steelers in 2023, he did not play a game for them in 2024 when injuries did not arise.
Rowe was previously selected by Utah in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. After playing for the New England Patriots during the later Tom Brady years, he signed a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2019.
In those three games during the regular season, Rowe had a forced fumble and an interception. In those three games, he added 29 tackles, demonstrating that he can continue to be a productive player far into old age.
Rowe has already begun negotiations with general manager Omar Khan to rejoin the organization, which gave him the nickname “Death Rowe.”
Rowe informed the Bleacher Brothers, “I’m speaking with the Steelers.” I’d really like to return. If they want me back, I enjoy their culture up there.
Rowe will turn 33 in October, making him 32 now. He will probably be added to a practice squad later in the season if the Steelers decide to bring him back for depth.
