The fifth season of Taylor Sheridan, which has so far starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton, the owner of the biggest contiguous cow ranch in the United States [in Montana], is the final season. The ranch is always at odds with the people it borders, including an Indian reservation, a growing town, and ruthless economic rivalry, amid shifting alliances, unsolved killings, open wounds, and hard-earned respect.
Since its June 2018 premiere, Yellowstone has been a tremendous hit with audiences. The midseason finale aired on January 1, 2023, while the first segment of the fifth and final season aired in the fall of 2022. Due to the writer’s strike that year, the second half of the last season was postponed from its original fall 2023 airing date.
On November 10, at the premiere of the second half of season five, viewers were informed about John Dutton’s passing. He was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the floor of his bathroom.
On December 8 and 15, the last two episodes will be broadcast.
