Academy Sports + Outdoors is planning to open a new location in the York area in addition to the Harrisburg area.
In Springettsbury Township, York County, the sports goods and outdoor recreation business is set to open a 61,000-square-foot store at 2801 E. Market St.
Additionally, the firm plans to open a brand-new, 65,000-square-foot location in Lower Paxton Township at 5125 Jonestown Road.
Neither store’s opening dates have been announced yet. There will be about 60 employees each store.
The York facility will be Academy’s 300th store overall, while the Harrisburg region store will be the company’s first in Pennsylvania.
A large selection of sports and outdoor gear will be available at the new Academy Sports + Outdoors locations.
