One agent will be keeping a careful eye on Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans as the Eagles’ starting defensive line pressures Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the hopes that his newest client, defensive end Josh Sweat, has a strong day that might help him sign a huge contract in free agency.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Sweat has switched agents, going from Klutch Sports, with whom he signed a little over a year ago, to Rosenhaus Sports Representation’s Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha. Rosenhaus has worked with the Eagles for a long time. includes defensive tackle Jalen Carter, offensive lineman Fred Johnson, and cornerback Darius Slay among his current clients on the team.

In addition to six quarterback hits, 16 pressures, and 41 tackles, Sweat, 27, led the Eagles in sacks with eight during the regular season. To avoid being on the trading block, Sweat and the Eagles reached a reworked agreement in March 2024 that paid him $10 million guaranteed and included incentives of up to $13 million. Sweat will join former Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick, New Orleans Saints defensive end Chase Young, and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Matt Judon as one of the premier edge rushers available as a free agency. Additionally, Sweat might earn a sizable salary in the form of a deal with a new team or an extension with the Eagles, considering his age and output.

The Eagles will have to make crucial selections that will impact the position group and will be thin at the edge rusher position. Sweat and defensive end Brandon Graham, who will also be a free agency, are in doubt, while linebackers Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are still under rookie contracts.
