At 7:33 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service published a forecast for Southern Wayne, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Pike counties that called for light accumulating snow to last until 10 p.m.
“The area is quickly receiving 1 to 2 inches of snow due to a swiftly moving clipper system. Untreated surfaces and roadways are rapidly become slick with snow. By around 10 p.m., the continuous snowfall will stop, with only a few flurries or sporadic freezing drizzle remaining throughout the late evening. When driving this evening, the weather service advises being cautious, slowing down, and allowing additional time.
