The city of PhiladelphiaBefore facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, the Eagles have one week to get their players well.
Eight players who are coping with injuries or require rest were held out of Friday’s practice by the Eagles: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Cam Jurgens (back), Landon Dickerson (knee), Kenneth Gainwell (concussion), Zach Baun, Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle), and Parris Campbell. Smith and Baun were at practice, although they were in the sidelines.
After missing Thursday’s practice, defensive tackle Moro Ojomo and second-year edge rusher Nolan Smith returned to the field. Ojomo missed the game because of a shoulder injury, and Smith was ruled out because of an illness.
Due to load management for his knee, Brown has practiced intermittently throughout the playoffs. He was also granted a rest day on Thursday. It’s possible that his knee is improving because the Eagles didn’t list him with an injury classification yesterday.
Jurgens played through a back injury, and Dickerson and Gainwell were also hurt during the Eagles’ victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship last Sunday.
