One of the key players in the early 1970s punk music movement, Patti Smith, passed out on stage during a performance in Brazil on Wednesday.

According to The Guardian, Smith, 78, was reading a piece about climate change while playing with the ensemble Soundwalk Collective when she fainted approximately thirty minutes into the show.

After being wheeled backstage, she came back to apologize for having to end the show early.

As shown in a video from the event, she told the audience from a wheelchair, “Unfortunately, I got sick, and the doctor said I can’t finish.” Therefore, we will need to come up with a solution. And I feel awful.

Wing and Because the Night were the next two songs she sang.

According to news reports, the Gloria singer had been experiencing excruciating migraines for a few days prior to the performance.

Smith, on the other hand, claimed to be OK on Instagram today, downplaying any reason for worry.

The press and social media are spreading a wildly inflated story, she wrote. After my migraine, I experienced some vertigo. After a brief incident, he left the stage and came back ten minutes later to speak to the audience.

After being examined by a top-notch physician, I was in perfect health. She went on, “Please don’t accept any other story.” This comprehensible occurrence doesn’t deserve much attention given all the conflict in the globe. I appreciate everyone’s concern. Believe me, I’m all right.

I’m all right. In a quick phone call, she told The Associated Press, “You can hear, I’m fine.” Everything about it has been greatly exaggerated.

Several well-known musicians, such as Chrissie Hynde and Michael Stipe, are anticipated to play in a tribute event in March to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of Smith’s iconic album Horses.
