According to ESPN analyst Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have indicated interest in getting back together with quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson might depart to join the Las Vegas Raiders, where he would be reunited with Pete Carroll, his former coach from his time with the Seattle Seahawks.
However, the team informed Wilson that they had the first chance to get him back and that there was a chance he may. But whether it will be Wilson or Justin Fields is still up in the air.
Wilson’s statistics appear to be excellent, but he had a lot of trouble in his previous five games. The Steelers wanted to extend Wilson, but it appears that the future is more focused on Justin Fields coming back and starting in 2025 than it is on paying a large contract to a 36-year-old Wilson who had a rough finish.
