Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was selected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday. Following the withdrawal of Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, Wilson was added as an alternate. Wilson was chosen for the Pro Bowl, as was quarterback Drake Maye of the Patriots.
When Wilson was still playing for the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, he attended his final Pro Bowl. This is Wilson’s tenth Pro Bowl appearance.
Despite his belief that Pittsburgh is a unique location, Wilson stated on the Pat McAfee Show last year that he hopes to return for a long time, but that is up to him.
Wilson remarked, “I love Pittsburgh, and it was a special place for me.” I’m hoping to play there for a long time and end my career there. The guys in the locker room make it a unique place.
Wilson’s statistics appear to be excellent, but he had a lot of trouble in his previous five games. The Steelers wanted to extend Wilson, but it appears that the future is more focused on Justin Fields coming back and starting in 2025 than it is on paying a large contract to a 36-year-old Wilson who had a rough finish.
Wilson went on to say that while some preliminary discussions about his contract have begun, there is no assurance that he will rejoin the squad. Numerous rumors and rumors suggest that the team might switch their focus from Wilson to Justin Fields.
