Recently, the cast of a well-liked HGTV program reached a settlement in court.

This settlement came right before the lawsuit was scheduled to go to trial and comes after nearly two years of litigation.

In February 2023, Matthew and Sarah McGrath of Bella Vista, Arkansas, filed a lawsuit against Dave and Jenny Marrs, the husband-wife team behind Fixer to Fabulous fame, according to TV Insider.

The McGraths accused Jupiter Rentals and Marrs Constructions, which are owned by the Marrs, of not carrying out agreed-upon upgrades to a $559,000 property that the couple had acquired, among other things, according to CBS affiliate 5News explainshow.

The legal complaint explains that although though the contract indicates that the building was finished at the time the contracts were executed, the plaintiffs [the McGraths] asked Jupiter to carry out particular upgrades through its agent, Dave Marrs.

According to the complaint, as of August 28, 2022, not a single repair on the list has been completed. Since then, the defendants, acting through Dave Marrs, have tried some of the stated repairs; nevertheless, the house has sustained additional damage as a result of several of these attempts.

According to 5News, the McGraths requested the court’s ruling against the firms and the litigation’s expenses. And now, following months of back and forth, it seems that the parties have decided to reach a settlement before their trial date on January 27.

In a recent court filing, plaintiffs Matthew and Sarah McGrath and defendants Marrs Construction, Inc. and Jupiter Rentals, LLC, through their respective attorneys, state that all pending claims that are currently or may be asserted by any party have been fully compromised by settlement, and that upon completion of the settlement, the pending claims in the aforementioned lawsuit will be dismissed with prejudice.
