According to Hayes Fawcett, the four-star running back ended his recruitment on Monday night, saying that he would only choose the team that will help him grow and make it to the NFL.

In addition to Penn State, the star of the Cougars had 29 other offers, including from Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Oregon.

Back in August 2023, when Mickens was still playing for Trinity, the Harrisburg star declared his intention to join the Nittany Lions.

Since Jordan Hill, Mickens’ former head coach at Trinity, is now the Nittany Lions’ director of life skills, the two schools are already connected.

In the Class of 2026, he won’t be the only Cougar to join the Nittany Lions. Kevin Brown, an offensive tackle, has also committed to Penn State.

Throughout the 2024 high school season, Mickens was a formidable force on both the offensive and defensive ends.

He scored 23 touchdowns and had 1,449 total yards. With 81 tackles, he led the club in tackles for loss and sacks (39 and 16.5, respectively) on the defensive end.

Micken won numerous accolades for his accomplishment, including PennLive’s Defensive Player of the Year and Pa.’s 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year.
