The performance of a fellow Nittany Lion on Sunday has drawn immediate attention from Micah Parsons, one of the NFL’s top defensive players and a Penn State great.
Parsons talked on how good Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has been this season after Barkley’s explosive 60-yard score on his first offensive play of the NFC Championship Game.

He might be right. In addition to finishing just over 100 yards short of the single-season rushing record, Barkley was named a finalist for the 2024 NFL AP MVP award at the end of the season. He might have achieved that milestone if Philadelphia had permitted him to participate in the last regular-season game.
Barkley has two rushes for 64 yards and two touchdowns against Washington in the NFC Championship. Before the third quarter ended, he had reached the 90-yard milestone.
