Eagles vs. Commanders preview, betting odds

To put it simply, I’m picking the Eagles at -6.5.

This season, the Eagles and Commanders have faced each other three times.

The Eagles won 26–18 at home in the opening game (Week 11).

Week 16’s second game saw the Eagles lose 36–33 in Washington.

But it’s crucial to keep in mind the circumstances surrounding that second matchup.

Due to a concussion, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts left the game in the first quarter. It’s a comfort that Kenny Pickett didn’t perform well. Although he averaged only six yards per attempt and scored a touchdown pass, he also had an interception and a fumble.

The Commanders’ run defense is substantially inferior than the Eagles’, which is concerning when facing a running back tandem of Hurts and Saquon Barkley. Both teams have strong pass defenses, though.

Barkley recorded four running touchdowns and close to 300 rushing yards in two games versus the Commanders.

The Commanders have allowed 151 rushing yards per game through two playoff games against the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They allowed more than 130 per game while in 30th place throughout the regular season.

Hurts and Barkley run amok at this point, marking the end of the Commanders’ Cinderella story.

Eagles -6.5 (-102) is the best bet.
