Merrill, a junior currently and a 4-star recruit, is one of the top lineman in the class of 2026, proving his prediction to be accurate. Additionally, he announced the five institutions that are vying for his pledge on Saturday.

Merrill disclosed his last five schools—Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Clemson, and Alabama—in a graphic that was uploaded on X, formerly Twitter. His commitment date has not been disclosed.

Merrill, who is 6′ 6″ and 325 pounds, is one of the top players in the Mid-Penn’s Class of 2026, which also includes Kevin Brown of Harrisburg, Messiah Mickens, Elias Coke, and D Antae Sheffey.

He frequently competes with Brown for the position as Pennsylvania’s top player in the class.

Merrill is ranked as the top recruit in Pennsylvania, the sixth-best offensive tackle in the class, and the 57th-best player overall by ESPN, despite the fact that all other sites list him as a 4-star.

He is ranked No. 83 in the class and No. 2 in the state by Rivals.com, behind Brown, who is ranked No. 1 at the position.
