The Nittany Lions staff has already benefited from Penn State’s first of two junior day recruiting events, which were held on Saturday.
Julian Peterson, a three-star cornerback from Winslow Township, New Jersey, in 2026, visited Penn State on Saturday and decided to commit. According to On3, he had already visited State College in March and June, making this his third visit.

Peterson is ranked as the No. 32 cornerback in the nation and the eighth-best player in the class for New Jersey. Prior to a rush of FBS schools contacting him, Penn State was only the third program to offer him in August 2023. Before committing, Peterson had also visited Georgia, Minnesota, Maryland, and Rutgers.
He joined four-star safety Matt Sieg from Fort Cherry, Pennsylvania, as the second defensive back and the first cornerback to pledge to Penn State’s 2026 class.
Peterson has played for former Nittany Lion letterman and head coach Bill Belton at Winslow Township. Peterson weighs 175 pounds and is 6-1.
Although it is still early, Penn State appears to have one of the top recruiting classes in the country for 2026. With nine verbal promises after Peterson’s commitment, the Lions rose to No. 4 in the country.
