At the East-West Shrine Bowl, the first major All-Star game of the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, the Pittsburgh Steelers are well-represented. The Shrine Bowl is a major priority for the Steelers, under the leadership of assistant general manager Andy Weidl, according to Josh Carney of Steelers Depot.
Mark Bruener, Chidi Iwouma, Jim Ward, Dennis MacInnis, and Matt McCreight are all scouts there this year. Along with Weidl, the Steelers are also in attendance with director of college scouting Dan Colbert and senior scouting assistant Kelvin Fisher, who are some of the heavier hitters.

Like the Senior Bowl, the Shrine Bowl has grown in significance for the Steelers in recent years. Last season, they drafted defensive lineman Logan Lee and guard Mason McCormick from there; McCormick went on to start for the team. The Steelers place a lot of importance on these activities because they selected Payton Wilson, Zach Frazier, and Roman Wilson from that crop for the Senior Bowl.
The Senior Bowl workouts will begin early next week, coinciding with the Shrine Bowl. In order to determine who the Steelers wish to select in the draft, this is the first crucial stop.
