Antwaan Randle-El, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is getting promoted after joining the Chicago Bears as an offensive coordinator after Detroit Lions coach Ben Johnson. Randle-El will advance significantly in his coaching career as Johnson’s assistant head and wide receivers coach.

Randle-El was a longtime wide receiver who threw a touchdown ball to Hines Ward on a reverse during their Super Bowl XL triumph. After leaving to go to Washington in 2010, he rejoined the Steelers, and following their loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl, he retired.

Since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 as an offensive assistant to Bruce Arians, he has been an NFL coach. He became the wide receivers coach in Detroit after leaving the Buccaneers in 2021.

Since then, he has remained there, but he is now going to Chicago to practice with those wide receivers and Johnson. This is Randle-El’s homecoming because she was born in Harvey, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.
