Eaglescenter Cam Jurgens made the journey from the locker room to the indoor practice facility on Friday afternoon, holding his athletic tape in his left hand and his helmet in his right. Due to a back issue, Pro Bowl offensive lineman Jurgens missed both Wednesday’s walkthrough and Thursday’s practice, casting doubt on his availability for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field at 3 p.m. If he doesn’t play, it might have a cascading effect on the offensive line.
Despite suffering a back injury during Sunday’s divisional-round victory against the Los Angeles Rams, Jurgens continued to play, helping to call blocking assignments and making contributions to the running and passing game. He was labeled as questionable for the game after playing little in Friday’s practice.

Due to a personal issue, Fred Johnson missed practice on Thursday. He returned on Friday. If either right tackle comes off the bench first, it’s Johnson.Left tackle Lane JohnsonJordan Mailatahas will no longer be playing. Britain Covey, a wide receiver and punt returner, has been given a practice window by the Eagles this week, but he will not play against the Commanders since he is still recovering from a neck ailment. Cornerback Cooper DeJean has taken up the punt return responsibilities since Covey has been sidelined. He has averaged 3.2 yards on five returns, including an 11-yard return. Byron Young, a defensive tackle who is still on the roster but hasn’t participated in a game this season, has also been ruled out.
The cornerbackAfter leaving the game last Sunday in the first quarter due to a shoulder injury, Quinyon Mitchell was prepared to play in Friday’s practice. Because of the impact Commanders Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin can have as well as the rise of wide receiver Dyami Brown, the Eagles will need Mitchell on the field. The Commanders beat the Detroit Lions in the divisional round thanks to Brown’s six receptions for 98 yards.
