According to NFL source Jeff Howe, quarterback Russell Wilson of the Pittsburgh Steelers may depart Pittsburgh to meet up with his former coach, Pete Carroll, in Seattle. Wilson is a name to keep an eye on, according to Howe, and despite their past argument, it seems that they have patched things up, so this move might be on the table.
Wilson stated a few days ago that he wanted to return to Pittsburgh and that the Steelers and his team had at least begun exploratory discussions over a new contract.
Wilson remarked, “Man, I have so much more in me. Naturally, I’m thrilled because I want to spend a lot of time and, ideally, my entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. For me, Pittsburgh holds a special spot. I want to be able to play there for a long time because I adore it.
Wilson’s statistics appear to be excellent, but he had a lot of trouble in his previous five games. The Steelers wanted to extend Wilson, but it appears that the future is more focused on Justin Fields coming back and starting in 2025 than it is on paying a large contract to a 36-year-old Wilson who had a rough finish.
That may make it possible for Wilson to join the Raiders in Las Vegas, where a reunion with his former coach in Carroll might be beneficial for a struggling Raiders club.
