In the quarterfinals, Djokovic defeated No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz with a commanding 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 victory to advance to the semifinals and face Zverev. The 37-year-old Serbian has won the most Australian Open championships (10), and the most Grand Slam triumphs (24), in his career. Djokovic’s record against Zverev is 8–4, and the last time he defeated him was when he won the Cincinnati Open the previous season. With two victories in the last four meetings, this will be the fifth consecutive semifinal encounter between the two players.
