The group of 2024 Penn State starting wide receivers that have picked their transfer destination now includes Omari Evans and Harrison Wallace III.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that Evans made his commitment to Washington on Wednesday evening. According to reports, Evans was visiting the Huskies, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and Syracuse when he logged into the transfer portal on January 14.
Evans was second to Wallace with 21 receptions for 415 yards in 2024, and he led all Penn State wide receivers with five touchdowns. The product of Killeen, Texas, averaged 18.8 yards per catch while playing in 38 games during his career. As a Nittany Lion, he had 30 receptions, 564 yards, and seven touchdowns.
Since the end of the season, Penn State’s receiving corps has completely changed under position coach Marques Hagans, with Evans and Wallace playing alongside backup wideouts Tyler Johnson and Mehki Flowers. Additionally, Troy’s Devonte Ross and USC’s Kyron Hudson were transferred by James Franklin and Hagans.
Evans was rated as the 123rd-best transfer wide receiver in the country by 247Sports, and he was a three-star talent in the 2022 class. He is still eligible for another year.
Penn State defeated Washington 35-6 in the White Out this season, but they won’t face the Huskies again until 2026.
