According to Pro Football Focus, Amari Cooper, a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, would be best suited to the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency. Cooper did not have a significant effect while with the Bills before being dealt to the Cleveland Browns.
This season, he only recorded 547 receiving yards. Still, Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowler, appears to be among the NFL’s top route runners. To a room that needs a boost of talent, the Steelers might consider adding that.
“At the trade deadline, the Steelers were actively looking for receiving help, and reports connected them to a number of candidates, including the former Brown. They wrote that it would be wise to split defensive attention and soothe the Steelers’ receiver room by pairing the level-headed Cooper with George Pickens.
Despite his advanced age, Cooper’s route-running approach, which contrasts with George Pickens’, might be effective. Cooper has continued to win despite a decline in performance, which is exactly what the Steelers needed in players.
Instead of going out and acquiring an experienced veteran like Cooper, the team may prefer to go younger at wide out.
