The city of Philadelphia The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Tuesday night thanks to a goal from Rasmus Ristolainen in overtime.
At 4:34 in overtime, Ristolainen poked a loose puck narrowly over the goal line. Ristolainen had an easy tap-in after Detroit defenseman Moritz Seider attempted to remove the puck from in front of the goal but instead pinned it against the post.
Samuel Ersson recorded 27 saves and Joel Farabee scored for the Flyers.
The Red Wings, who have dropped their previous five games and their third in a row, were led by Ben Chiarot.

Flyers: Philadelphia was where Rodrigo Abols made his NHL debut. He is the oldest rookie to make a Flyers debut since Will O’Neill (29 years, 188 days) in 2017 at 29 years, 16 days.

In the second period, Sean Couturier scored his goal with a brilliant backhand pass to Farabee after winning a 50/50 battle for a puck. Up until that time, the game had been a defensive contest in which neither team had created many good scoring opportunities.
Key stat
This season, Chiarot has only managed two goals, both of which have occurred in Philadelphia. In December, he scored another goal in a 4-1 loss to the Flyers.
