The Red Rabbit Drive-In will soon reopen, which is a clear sign of spring.
The well-known roadside rest stop along Route 322 in Reed Township, Dauphin County, has announced that it will open for business on January 31.
Since its opening in 1964, the restaurant that is known for its Bunny Burgers and Bunny Dust french fries has been a favorite among generations of diners.
In November 2024, the Red Rabbit closed for the season.
The menu features classic staples like burgers and vanilla Cokes, and Red Rabbit hasn’t changed anything but its prices, which appeals to fans. Car-hop manner, diners still pull up, roll down their windows, and wait for service.
The renowned quarter-pound Bunny Burger from The Red Rabbit is served on a sesame seed roll and consists of bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and the restaurant’s unique sauce.
Fish, crab cakes, chicken, grilled cheese, ham and pork barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers are some of the other menu staples. Along with floats, sundaes, and ice cream sodas, diners can also choose crab cake dinners, fried jumbo shrimp, filet of haddock dinner, and a chicken finger meal.
It will be open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed Monday through Thursday.
