As Leonard recovers from his injury and follows up his best game of the season with 23 points on 8-of-11 field goals and 7-of-7 free throws in Wednesday’s 126-67 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, the Clippers are 3.5-point favorites playing at home with a team still coming together. After losing three of their last four games, the Clippers’ victory was their third in a row.
The Lakers are likewise trying to get back on track following a difficult stretch that included two postponements because of wildfires in California and three consecutive losses. Since then, LA has defeated the Miami Heat (117–108) and Nets (102–101) in consecutive games. In Friday’s victory over Brooklyn, Austin Reaves scored a career-high 38 points, while James contributed another 29.
