The National Weather Service released an updated forecast for snow showers through 10 p.m. on Sunday for the counties of Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, and Indiana at 4:33 p.m.

As an arctic front passes across the area this evening, there is a chance of scattered snow showers. Certain snow showers will create a fast layer of snow and cut visibility to less than 0.5 miles. Low visibility showers are still possible anywhere in the region, but the I-80 corridor still has the highest probability. Temperatures in the 10s will make it easy for snow to adhere to roads, and water may freeze again, making both treated and untreated roads hazardous. If driving this evening, drivers should be ready for shifting road conditions and visibility. “Accidents may occur due to changes in visibility and slick roads with snow showers,” the weather agency said.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
