According to Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network, former Pitt safety Donovan McMillon spoke with many clubs during the Hula Bowl, including the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 49ers, Ravens, Chiefs, Packers, Jaguars, Commanders, Eagles, Vikings, Lions, Colts, and Buccaneers were among the other teams who spoke with McMillon. McMillon was the Pitt team’s reading tackler and senior leader.
McMillon, a native of Peters Township, Pennsylvania, returned to Pittsburgh after living in Florida. In his final season with the Panthers, he recorded 115 tackles and nine passes defended, and he started both seasons.
McMillon, a four-star prospect from Peters Township, has a wealth of special team experience from his time with the Gators in addition to playing largely as a box safety.
Since safety Damontae Kazee is scheduled to become a free agency, the Steelers may try to sign McMillon to add depth at safety. They will need a third safety to cover for him. Several players had previously met with Pittsburgh during the Hula Bowl.
