This week, golfer John Daly informed his followers on social media that he had undergone emergency surgery.

Writing, “Emergency hand surgery thankful (it went great) & Doc McClimans for taking care of me,” Daly shared a picture of himself from a hospital bed on Instagram.

The good news?

“I’ll be back playing soon!” he added.

Daily also thanked his admirers for all of the messages and assured them that he would be hitting them again soon, according to PEOPLE Magazine.

Regarding the reason for the urgent surgery, no other information has been provided.

Daly has had a difficult few months because, as PEOPLE noted, he lost his house to Hurricane Helen in October.

Additionally, the website noted Daly’s history of health issues, including his announcement in 2020 that he was fighting bladder cancer.

In 1987, the 58-year-old became a professional. Among other things, he is well-known for his lengthy trips, his fondness for Diet Coke, and his propensity to smoke while driving.
