At 8:07 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released an updated forecast for lake effect snow in Northern Erie and Southern Erie through 9:30 p.m.

Tonight, it is highly discouraged to travel in this area. Traveling through this snow band should only be done in extreme cases. Make sure your car has an emergency kit, food and water, and a full tank of gas if you have to go.
