In Spanish La Liga play, Real Madrid and Barcelona will face each other for the first time since Barcelona’s thrilling 4-0 victory on October 26. Madrid got here after winning the Supercopa last season and defeating Mallorca 3-0 in the semifinals thanks to goals from Jude Bellingham, Martin Valjent, and Rodrygo in the second half. Gavi and Lamine Yamal’s goals in the 17th and 52nd minutes, respectively, helped Barcelona overcome Athletic Club 2-0 in the semifinals while pitching a shutout. Following Real Madrid’s victory against Barcelona in the previous year’s final, both teams come into the match with 13 Supercopa titles overall.
