Among the many tragedies resulting from the California fires, Shelley Sykes posted one of the most devastating on social media on Saturday.

Rory Sykes, a former child actor, is Sykes’s child.

She explained that Rory had cerebral palsy from birth, was blind, and had trouble walking.

“With surgeries and therapy, he overcame a lot to regain his sight and learn to walk,” she wrote in a post on X.He was nevertheless excited about going on a globe tour with me, from Africa to Antarctica, in spite of the discomfort.

According to his mother, Rory Sykes perished in the fires on January 8. He was only thirty-two. Furthermore, Shelley claims to have attempted to save her son, which adds to the tragedy of his passing.

She claimed that Rory owned a cottage on their 17-acre Malibu estate, and that because the water was turned off, she was unable to use a hose to extinguish the cinders that sprang to his roof.

She said that because of her fractured arm, she was unable to lift and carry her son.

She told Australia’s 10 News First, “He said, ‘Mom, leave me.’ No mother can leave their child.” I was unable to lift him because I had a broken arm. I was unable to move him.
